INGREDIENT
2 packages of yeast
1/2 cup warm water
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs yolks and 1 entire
-salt
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3,5 cups all purpose flour
glaze mix together 1-1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar, 2 teaspoon lemon juice and 2 to 3 tablespoons water
RECIPE
1. dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the sugar, butter, milk, egg yolks, salt, lemon zest, nutmeg and 2 cups flour : beat until smooth and add the rest of flour to form a soft and sticky dough
2. knead the dough on a floured surface then place it in a greased bowl and cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
3. roll the dough to form a ring and place it on a greased baking sheet then cover it and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour
4. brush the dough with egg and bake it at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes
5. spread the glaze over the cake and sprinkle with colored sugars and edible decorations
